The completion of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in 2019 marked the beginning of a twenty-year redevelopment plan in Tottenham, known as the Northumberland Development Project.

All That Was Once Directly Lived is an ongoing exploration of home. It is an attempt to investigate the intersecting narratives of Tottenham, north London, in the midst of rapid redevelopment, and reflect not only my personal relationship with the area but also the collective experience of a community grappling with the forces of change.

The hidden currents that shape our experiences are quietly written into the visual language of the spaces that surround us, subtly revealing layers of a complex social history and a diverse and multifaceted cultural heritage. They are also ingrained with personal histories, despite the relentless, profit-driven mechanisms of change that reshape the landscape with a cold efficiency and with little regard for human stories and notions of belonging. This project aims to offer glimpses of personal and collective memories of place, explored through the individuals, spaces and structures that make up the area, carrying not only the whispers of the past but also the signs of what is to come.
